Injury recovery is full of good intentions. But when the system’s under pressure, what actually happens?
Too often, workplace injuries get ignored or undocumented out of fear. Return-to-work conversations are rushed or robotic. There’s a fear that acknowledging a claim or reaching out to someone off work might backfire. So we say as little as possible, stick to scripts, or avoid it altogether.
But here’s the truth: silence and avoidance don’t protect us. They cost us. More stress. More burnout. Longer claims. Disengaged workers who don’t feel seen or supported.
Karli Edgerton brings over a decade of experience advancing workplace health, safety, and wellbeing.
A recognized voice in the field, she has shared her expertise as a panelist at leading industry forums including the Australian Workers’ Compensation Summit (OZ Workers Comp 2025).
